I recently acquired a sword that has WW2 surrender paperwork stating that the swordsmith is "Mitsutada Osafune." I included a picture of the surrender paperwork as well as pictures of the mei. There are quite a few kanji on the tachi side that I can hardly read. I also would like some of you who are much more knowledgeable than I about the authenticity of the mei. I don't have the history of the sword yet, but am very intrigued if this is a true Mitsutada. I am considering sending the sword to the NBTHK for shinsa bu am wanting to decide if it would be worth it.

I am trying to find my previous posts about mei translation on other swords I own, but can't find them. Is there a way to find the posts I have created?

the blade is 76cm and is beautiful, already has hozen and is now awaiting TH

Can you help me learn what these inscriptions mean?

My only experience in buying from Japan is with Tsuruta-San at AOIart.
Hoping there are members with much longer experience than I and have the 'low-down' on the place.
I'm looking at buying a Tokobetsu Hozon sword and don't wish to throw money out the window- though, of course, I'd use
a credit card ( citibank has been great with fraud issues )to make the purchase and not a bank wire.
Still, I prefer to rely on the experiences of those who've gone before me. :-D

It has performed a test of carbon-14 , and we found that it is more than 400 years old. I send a picture of a rice paper with a old kanji, could you tell me what does it say? Hi to all.
I recently acquired a very nice wakizashi from Japan. ( my first nihonto..WOO HOO :)
Looked flawless to me. Beautiful polish.
Then, this morning I pulled it out and noticed a tiny black dot on the hamon.
I won't elaborate any further other than to say I tried to remove the dot with metal polish and when that left a bright spot I hit with a piece of scotchbrite. Did look a little better and less shiny but it's still visibly different than the rest of the hamon.
Like I said-newbie ( and all the stupidity that comes with that )

Hi folks, here I come with new problematic issues (apologies for any irritations), number 1. Recently Purchased mu-mei Katana as Showa sword, however, my doubts that the guy who sold it to me has missed the "little" in the Periods, I modest believe that this looks (in my eyes) a typical Bungo sword from late Shintyo early Shin-Shinto Period. Thankful in advance for any kind of correction to my statement.
