I was recently gifted a katana and would appreciate any help in translating the name of the swordsmith on its oshigata. I have already translated the date shown on the left (Showa, 20th year, February), but have been unsuccessful in translating the swordsmith's name on the right. Any help would be appreciated. |

TV Japan (cable channel here in the U.S., with content from NHK) had an interesting program last night about polishing. It featured a togishi (polisher) named Sasaki, and 2 current students and one former student. The 3 students are each polishing a blade to enter into a competition. Pete |
