Hi everybody.
Could anyone help me with the identification of that mei on my wakizashi blade ?
I believe the two first characters are dealing with a date (but which one ?), and I guess the three other ones are the swordsmith's name.

TV Japan (cable channel here in the U.S., with content from NHK) had an interesting program last night about polishing. It featured a togishi (polisher) named Sasaki, and 2 current students and one former student. The 3 students are each polishing a blade to enter into a competition.
It was all in Japanese, so I didn't understand some stuff, but I believe they spent 8 weeks. There were good shots and commentary about how the hamon is brought out, and also about how critical the kissaki (tip) is.

Dear Sirs,
I'm from a fencer's family, we always like sword and now, I practice martial arts and have a budo shop in Paris.
My request is about a old wakisashi Meï (signature).
Please see pictures.
This wakisashi is about 52,8cm lenght, in a Satsuma's Koshirae. The nakago looks like old sword with red rust. The sword was in bad state but i'm making a cleaning with shirasaya koshirae. Just waiting the result to be able to see the original work.
The Mei seems made with 3 kanji (maybe 4) the 2 last are 'Hisakuni' 久國.

My dad has owned this wakizashi for some time now. We've been looking at symbols but honestly don't have a clue what's going on. Yes that's paint over the symbols courtesy of my dad's "enhancement". The blade was "cleaned" in the 80s with something like 450 grit sand paper.
