Here is a sword that reads 肥前国肥後大掾源種廣 Hizen Kuni Higo Daijo Minamoto Tanehiro. I was just wondering if there is any info on the sword maker and the sword itself, as I can't seem to find any myself.

Hello,
IRT E-mail conversation w/Stan, I would like to request a reading of my Wakizashi tang, if possible.
I apologize for the pictures. I don't have a really good digital camera yet.
I would appreciate anything you can tell me about this piece.
Thanks,
Justen

Hey everyone, my grandmother sent me a Katana that she bought, and I just want some information about it, mostly if the tang say's anything interesting. It was listed as a 'Real' Nihonto, I'm pretty sure it's just a replica, but I've been known to be wrong before, Any help with confirming this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recently bought what appeared to be a rusty tosho tsuba on the internet. As the tsuba was large, probably old (pre-1600s) and cheap, I was not unduly worried about the rust. However, when I received the tsuba I found the 'rust' to be facinating, it is evenly distributed over both faces and resembles same (fish skin) used on sword handles. I've seen many tsuba in my time and I've never seen 'rust' like this, it is a hard stable patina, glossy in most parts. There are some patches of light red rust, but not the regular corrosion patern one would expect.
