Hi everyone,

im posting on behalf of my father who has just bought this very adorable menuki (image attached) we've tried to match the signature but wanted to see if we were on the right track or if anyone can assist in translation.

we think it's Haruoki - but any assistance is appreciated!

WW2 China made Gunto?

Hi Gang,
A friend a mine is offering to me this Gunto that was purported to have been made in China during the war. I don't see any info on the web doing a quick search, and the arsenal mark in unfamilar and on the blade. Have any of you experianced collectors seen these before? Any thoughts on it?

Dear friends. Before I'm so sorry because I don't know much about Japanese Sword. I have a Japannese sword. Or Katana, maybe. I can't identity this. I try to looking for at Japanese Sword Catalog and other, but I can't find that. This sword found by my grandfather (R.Wiryo Subroto) when he was young.

The value of WM Hawley books and pamphlets?

Hello all.

Just joined. I can NOT read nihon-go. I am thinking about purchasing W.M. Hawley's swordsmiths books and sword monographs. Do you think these are a good purchase for an english speaker who wants to identify swords and swordsmiths?

If not what would you recommend?
