mei removal

I am new to the study of Japanese swords and find myself overwhelmed at times. I have a simple question regarding the removal of mei without suriage. I don't really think I could recognize it after a period of time unless the file marks are removed and the patina was not there. I would be pleased if someone could help me with my question. I have read some of the explanations on why they may be removed, but not how. Thank you for your time and considerations.
Have a good evening.
Respectfully
Jack

wakizashi identification

Here is wakizashi with cutted nakago.
Please help recognize what is the age and who is the swordsmith.
I think the kanji on nakago is 発 (hatsu)???

Yari

Picked up an old yari last weekend, I can't make out the last kanji. I think it may be Seiji then something. Any clues on the last kanji character?

Restoration

Hello again all, (and thank you again Stan)

Any recommendations as to where to get the sword restored?

http://nihontoclub.com/discussions/2012/12/31/Wakizashi-tang-translation

This I am sure will be an endeavor; swords worth, verses cost to restore, verses worth after restoration, etc.

Thank you.

Wakizashi tang translation

Hello all, very new to this,

Great collections (images) some really amazing swords.

We have a Wakizashi; The Swordsmith; Munenaga seems to be the bottom two Konji, the top four are giving me trouble.

Help Please?

Hi Stan,

Happy New Year! Hope all is well with you guys.... It's been some time since my last post.. I would like to ask what can you say about this sword? I would appreciate any comments? also If possible an interpretation of the paper work in Japanese..I Really lost here... The guy who is offering me this sword claims that it is the NBTHK registration papers? Please shed some light to it.

Regards,
Jo

Help translating tang signature

Recently inherited a sword that my greatgrandfather acquired during his time in the pacific during WW2.

Trying to get a translation of the tang signature.

There is:

1) A small symbol with finer lines, sort of hard to see.
2) Three larger symbols.

Thank you in advance for any help.
