Wakizashi tang translation

Hello all, very new to this,

Great collections (images) some really amazing swords.

We have a Wakizashi; The Swordsmith; Munenaga seems to be the bottom two Konji, the top four are giving me trouble.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated

Thank you.

kurimono fujiwara munenaga

Hi Andre,

The signature reads:

刳物藤原宗長
kurimono fujiwara munenaga

See Munenaga.

Here's what Fujishiro writes about Munenaga:

MUNENAGA HIZEN [KAN'EI 1624 HIZEN] SHINTÔ JÔSAKU
He is in the Umetada Myôju Mon. He came to Hizen with the shodai Tadayoshi and left behind many works of horimono. He engraved many superb kenmakiryû and others in (the works of) shodai Tadayoshi nado, and added the mei "KIREMONO FUJIWARA MUNENAGA" or "HORIMONO MUNENAGA".
Signature: KURIMONO FUJIWARA MUNENAGA

Interesting!

Thanks Stan!!

My wife will love this.

We also have the matching leather sheath WWII Officers sword (not really a pair, but you know what I mean)

Here are a few more images, we are thinking of getting them both restored/cleaned up.
