Emura (EMU1)

    Many thanks for correction!

    The record has been updated.

  • Emura , alchemyst , 18 years 16 weeks ago

Record is correct. However this is NOT the same smith
as Nag 296. Emura was head of the Okayama Prison.
He also signed Chounsai Emura and Bishu Chounsai Emura
and sometimes just "E". There are also two different forms
of the "mura" Kanji used by him.

See my webpages on Emura, Nagamitsu and why the
    confusion arose.

Nagamitsu (NAG296)

  • Richard, thank you for , kazarena , 18 years 15 weeks ago

Richard, thank you for correction. The record has been updated.

  • Nagamitsu , alchemyst , 18 years 16 weeks ago

The record is correct. However, Nagamitsu was NOT
the head of Okayama prison. That was Emura. The two
smiths are not related. This is an error found in many of
    the older listings.

See my webpages on Emura, Nagamitsu and why the
    confusionn arose.

Munenaga (MUN272)

  • MUN260 , kazarena , 18 years 16 weeks ago

    Richard,

    It could be Munenaga MUN260.

I'm away from home at the moment. I'll double-check it next week.

I also have a listing in Hawley for a Munenaga from the
early Kamakura Period. He was a Bizen smith. Just FYI.
