Translation of Mei

Any help appreciated in translation of this signature and possible era on a Wakizashi.Photo attached (I hope)

wakizashi

My dad has owned this wakizashi for some time now. We've been looking at symbols but honestly don't have a clue what's going on. Yes that's paint over the symbols courtesy of my dad's "enhancement". The blade was "cleaned" in the 80s with something like 450 grit sand paper.

Tachi or Nodachi?

Hello, and thanks to the administrator for the registration...

First of all I need to say sorry for my english but I try do my best
to make not to much mistakes.
Im not to familiar with Japanese swords. I have bought a few books
to get some kind of basic knowledge.
There was a chance to buy some swords from a Veterans estate and
I take them all because it seems to be a nice start for a collection.
Amoungst them are some Wakizashi, Katana, and 2 Tachi swords.
One of the Tachi is a very long one and that makes me think it could
be a no dachi.

Katana/Tachi information help

Hello all!

I want to thank the admin for allowing me to register here and ask for assistance! I've been trying to research this blade for the past couple of weeks, and while I have learned a lot, and gotten what I suspect is some pretty good information from a couple helpful souls on other forums, I'm still no closer to figuring out the Mei or general timeframe of this sword's history.

Kaga no Kami Sadanori

Hi, I'm looking for examples of katana by Sadanori. Google hasn't turned up much so just wondering if anyone here has one, or any pictures of one?

Newly acquired Nihonto by Kanehide(1986)

Hello everyone.

First, thanks to Stan who accepted my membership.

Some days ago, I found the site web Tokugawa Arts Swrod and saw this Nihonto

http://www.sanmei.com/contents/en-us/p1878.html

I immediately fall in love with it: perfect measurements for me, nice curvature, beautiful koshirae, almost mint condition. For a 28 years old nihonto, it is well conserved. On top of that, this is a Noshu Kanehide's late masterpiece a few years before his death. For information, the Gunto that Mr.McCartney Russel used to perform his Geness record Senbongiri was forged by Kanehide as well.

Couriers

I'm trying to send a sword from Ireland to England, does anyone know a courier company that will handle swords? I've tried UPS, DHL, Fedex, and TNT so far and just got a flat no from them all. Cheers.

Mei assistance

Acquired a blade last weekend and am having little luck with the mei. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
rockney

File/Image upload fixed

Hi All,

My apologies for very slow response to your issues with file upload. I've been away from home for the last 2 weeks with limited connectivity options.

You should be able to upload pictures up to 2M in size each.

Stan
