ToShoW history

Hi All,
I just joined up here, after being "inactive" in the Nihonto world for several years.
I'm the author of the ToShoW database app, and my wife and I did all the original data entry (later, a couple of other folks entered a bunch to get us to over 10,000 records). My wife manually entered nearly all of the kanji ON/KUN readings, etc., in the kanji database. For a long time, it was perhaps the best computer-based kanji 'dictionary' available, without spending big $$$.

Mei : Tsuguie

Hello.
I am new here. Recently I bought one blade. I was told it is Ko-aoe from Bitchu.
There is Tsuguiye written on the mei. My question is simple- is there anybody who has an image of original Mei of Tsuguiye ? I am searching for it to verify if I am having gimei or not.

If it was not gimei, the blade would be good, created in old Kamakura, by one of the twelve swordsmiths who was summoned by Gotoba the emperor on 13st. century. (more info look for "Ichimonji" )
Of course I would consider that fact very much:-)

I know there is Toko Taikan but I have no access to this book.

Rating Systems

Dear All,

i am here for the first time so please excuse me if i sound silly.

i was offered a blade signed Takekuni Shimosaka - i've found him here http://nihontoclub.com/smiths/TAK243 but being a novice i'm a bit confused by the rating systems - the 15 by Hawley and 2M by Toko Taikan - is it good or no so good? :)

many thanks

WW2 Officer sword

I have a WW2 Officer sword with a signature on tang; Taniguchi Yoshikani. Is this smith known?
