He is called Hiki Rai (because he lived in Soshū Kamakura Hikigatani [1]). Some sources are saying he was a son of Kunitoshi or Kuniyuki and lived in Genō era (1319) [2]: "Rai Saburô, third son, who entered the priesthood, of Rai Magotarô, lived in Hikiya of Kamakura. Died before the age of thirty, ko-sujichigai yasuri, narrow sugu yakiba, tachi and tantô are both rare". Markus Sesko lists him as a student of Ryō Hisakuni [3].
