Hello,

Please help to translate kanji on shirasaya (sayagaki).

And if possible, few words about blade.
It is mumei wakizashi, nagasa 14.4 inches.

The sayagaki says:
"KATANA SEKI DEN" (katana, Seki school).
"1 SHAKU 2 SUN 2 BUN YO ARI" (about 37 cm).

Katana kanji and the year when was made

Please tell, why there is katana kanji, if there is wakizashi?

Is it possible to find the year when wakizashi was made?
Is it Edo period?

Hi,
Regarding "why katana, instead of wakizashi?":
My -guess- is that the writer was using TOu/KATANA as a general term for sword. It is "obvious" from the length that it is a wakizashi...
Regarding age: You didn't show any pictures of the nakago, and I don't have enough expertise to really judge anyway, but my "first guess" would be early Edo.
