Katana mei identification

Hello,

Please help to translate the mei.

I think it is:
Geishu Ju Fujiwara Kiyofusa 芸州住藤原清房

Am I right?

Seller declare it as Late Kamakura period ca. 1320 era. Konio school.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Victor

Geishū?

Hi Victor,

I agree with all characters except the first one. I don't see GEI (芸 or 藝) in Geishū there. Also, I can't find any references to Kiyofusa from Geishū. I wonder if it's 薩州 (Sasshū) instead? Picture quality doesn't allow me to see if it's correct.

Yes, there was Kiyofusa from Niō school, but he never used FUJIWARA in his signature, as far as I can see in the books.

Stan

Hi Stan. Here is all

Hi Stan.

Here is all information that seller has:

Kiyofusa has two swordsmiths. It both belongs to Nio(二王) school. One swordsmith took an active part to the Kareki (嘉歴)age in the Kamakura period. Another swordsmith took an active part at the Tenmon(天文)age in the Muromachi period. Kiyofusa of Moromachi period doesn't make Katana in Hiroshima Prefecture(芸州). The reason is that relations of Hoshu(防州) and Geishu(芸州) were bad.

I do not know if it is correct.

What do you think about it?

Thank you.
Victor
