History

According to Kyōhō Meibutsu Chō this blade has been in the Karasumaru Household from the ancient times.

In Genna 2 (1616) Honʻami Koho 光甫 polished the Karasumaru Tōshirō [1].

Miki Gondaiyu of Kyoto has had it since about the Enpo era (1673-1681).

Kozan Hon'ami (1639-1714) left a note in KMC that location of this sword was not known.

Signed. The tip of the nakago has been cut-off.

Karasumaru Arami Tōshirō

There's an interesting reference to Karasumaru Arami Tōshirō (烏丸新身藤四郎) in Ōsaka gyobutsu meibutsu tōken oshigata (1619) having nagasa of 9 sun 5 bu (same as Edo Arami Tōshirō).
