Workmanship and style
His works are jitetsu of ō-itame with a hada that is slightly arai, and a hamon of suguba hotsure
entwined in the hada [1]. Also choji-ko-midare [2].
Fujishiro notes that the blades made by Hōju probably look older than their actual period. This is because the fashions in the remote areas did not flow with the times, and these swords frequently continued in the style from older times [1].
