Biography and lineage

Born in Yamagata prefecture in 1909. Yasutake joined the Nihonto Tanren Kai in 1935 as a handyman. He became a sakite for his teachers, Ikeda Yasumitsu and Abe Yasushige, in 1939. In 1944 he became a Yasukuni tosho.

After the Second world war, he resumed forging sword in 1954. In 1970, Yasutake and Sakai Shigemasa forged a collaboration tanto for a centenary of the Yasukuni Shrine. In 1973, Yasutake forged a tachi to dedicate the Ise shrine. In 1981, he finally became a Mukansa-tosho. He died in 1983.
