Biography and lineage
Founder of Fujishima school. He is originally from Echizen.
There is a discrepancy in dates between Fujishiro and Hawley. According to Fujishiro, the earliest work of Tomoshige is from Oei era [1]. Hawley lists few generations of Tomoshige. It appears that Hawley follows traditional accounts while Fujishiro approaches Tomoshige's lineagefrom more critical and realistic standpoint.
