Workmanship and style
There's an extant tanto dated Teiji era (see the signature above, more information can be found in [1]). Given the dates Sanekage was active, it's unlikely he was a student of Etchu Norishige [2]. However Norishige's influence is evident in his works. Matsukawa ("pine-bark") hada can be seen in his works which is a unique mark of the Norishige School. [3].
Mokume, full temper, notare-komidare, gunome-midare, suguba-komidare.
