Biography and lineage
He is in the so-called Shintō Seki. Kiyonobu received the honorary title "Bitchū no Jō" (備中掾) on the seventh day of the eleventh month Shōhō 2 (正保, 1645), the latter was shortly later upgraded to "Bitchū no Kami" (備中守) [1].
Workmanship and style
The swords he made have a robust cross section, dense ko-itame with fine ji-nie, and a hamon of chū-suguba in ko-nie-deki with ko-ashi or midareba, and are recognized at a glance as being middle Shintō of around Kanbun and Enpō [2].
