Biography and lineage
His name is Gengorō 源五郎. He is Nobukuni's brother or son [1]. Toko Taikan lists him as second son of Ryō Hisanobu [2].
Moved to Echigo to study under Yamamura Masanobu. Changed his name from Sadakuni to Nobukuni in Eitoku 1381. Buddhist name: Ryōichi 了一.
See Nobukuni NOB301 who seems to be the same person, died in 1374 [1].
Workmanship and style
Made tachi and tanto. Mokume with masame. Suguba and ko-midare ba. Gengorō said to have signed his kuni with a sword (Tō) under a roof (Yane), enclosed in a frame [3].
