Soshu Shimada Yoshisuke: The Nihonto Club lists various smiths bearing this name, spanning the period from Kamakura to Edo. The first of them is said to have been a student of Masamune and the founder of the Shimada school. Other sources place the first Shimada Yoshisuke from 1455 onwards.
Presented here: The construction of the blade and the tang, which also features a square nakago hole, suggest that this is a very early Yoshisuke wakizashi. And the hitatsura is very impressive.
