岩戸一文字
Description:
This school is also known as Shōchū Ichimonji 正中一文字 (after Shōchū era, 1324-1326). As Honma Junji wrote in Nihon Koto Shi:
By the way, there is another school called ‘Shōchū-Ichimonji’ (正中一文字) that includes Yoshiuji (吉氏) and Yoshiie (吉家) who lived in Iwato-no-sho (岩戸荘). I think they should be called ‘Iwato-Ichimonji’ (岩戸 一文字) in order to avoid confusion between them and the Yoshioka-Ichimonji smiths, since both of them were active in the same age. For the sake of consistency this school will be referred to as Iwato Ichimonji. Smiths
