Wakizashi, would like some help please

Hello all,

My names Matt, I am new to the forum and I was hoping for some help with my wakizashi.

I have been getting into Japanese History, obviously this has alot to do with the samurai's of japan culture etc.

I am told it is Edo period but that is all I know, it isn't sharp and has said to be ivory around the mekugi pin location and bull horn in the shirasaya.

please have a look and let me know what you think.

Yukihira

Looks like "Bungo (no) kami Yukihira".
Possibly YUK59 in the Swordsmith Index.

Thanks pete, Looks a lot like

Thanks pete,

Looks a lot like that, I've been through the whole swords smiths list, and came across that one and it's the most alike one I could find but don't seem to be identical to some of the kanji, does it need to be?

kanji

No, it does not need to be identical. The various databases and references have "examples", but there are variations.

Wazikashi
